Thinking of using one of these brothers over my bitches Persian Goddess and or Whistling Bullet once their racing days are done.

Which brother would you use and why?
Why is Feral far more popular at this stage?
Who has the better temperament?

I think Persian Goddess a good quality bitch should be mated to a proven sire and a good one at that !

"Make that both bitches"

Be patient mate. Wait and see what they both throw. In the short term Mark is correct go to proven. I think Aussie Infared would be good.
Best of Luck Kade

Don't know about Feral Franky, so will not comment. But will say have observed Harada up close many times, trials, kennels etc. Magnificent looking animal, calmest dog i have seen. To me has everything required of a stud. ** Just my opinion.

Have a litter of Haradas 14 mths going to breakin next week out of a 27 kilo fine boned bitch
They are such nice looking pups that Poeple want to buy them before they go to breaker
Outstanding
He adds size 100 % dogs 35kg and 37kg but still have athleticism and co ordination
level headed temperament
Power and speed
He would assist bitches that are smallish and a bit mad in the head and lack early toe
You will get honest chase with well made put together pups

Pending on track designs ( j tracks or tight 2 turns )in the future , I dont think his offspring will be found out on either

I have seen a few litters by harada and they are all similar in make
Send me private message Kade and happy to send some pics over

Both brothers with luck should deliver
Volume and quality broods is all that will seperate them

Thank you Mark for the confirmation.

I think PAW knew a bit about breeding and was known to have a good foresight which could help Kade with his decision.
Cheers

Yes i agree about only using proven, but i'm hoping my 2 girls will keep racing for another 12 months yet and after a wind down period, I'm thinking both dogs should have some runners to prove themselves by then.

Main reason i'm looking at them is to create a double up of Bombastic Shiraz which has proven to be a huge nick with Aston Dee Bee. Also although they're not small bitches themselves, their mum was on the smaller side so want to keep putting a bit more size into future pups. Especially since they'll be racing a lot on the new Traralgon J Curve track which i think is going to suit larger dogs.

Yes i was aware of Paul using Feral over his bitches and not Harada.
On race track performance alone, i personally think Hararda is perhaps the better dog, however given that Feral is being used a lot more, i was interested to find out why.
It's a shame i can no longer contact the great man himself to ask why?

Which brother would you use and why?.......

Hi Kade,

Coming at this from what's been successful with Persian Goddess' damline previously, an idea may be to create a breeding parallel to Hot Puzzle by reintroducing Solve the Puzzle(STP) through different individuals back into the damline with one of the brothers dam Solar Pak.

So Solar Pak carries individuals that cover 82% of Solve the Puzzle's pedigree in the 5th generation https:/ CLICK HERE or 13 of the 16 lines in the 5th generation of STP's pedigree.

It may be enough to produce a decent type but there may be sires who's dams create more intensity with STP than Solar Pak does. For example Aston Kimetto https:/ CLICK HERE . His dam Sweet it Is carries individuals that cover 88% of Solve the Puzzle's pedigree in the 5th generation https:/ CLICK HERE or 14 of the 16 lines in the 5th generation of STP's pedigree. Problem cld be acquiring a straw if you were interested in reintroducing STP through different individuals.

This is only looking at the pedigree from a Hot Puzzle perspective. Solar Pak may work with another sire that was successful with the line. G/l.

I would be using Good Odds Harada personally.
Franky was a marvel and was magic at getting through a field, as have a lot of Smiths dogs. But littermates under other trainers have not usually been as field smart. So giving Jack credit where its due.... I think hes a master at getting them to be field smart. But Harada was just a super chaser. I think Frank got him super fast and really from his traits never really had to train him to go from behind as hes rarely there. So for me its the Speed of Good Odds Harada that wins.
Each to there own.

Four in a row for G.O.H.

And his times keep improving.

What an old marvel he is.

One of them will definitely produce Group Class offspring but it maybe a bit of a wait to see which one. Personally Im tipping Franky but for no real reason , just a hunch. JMO. Cheers

3 of David Smith's litter had their first start last week (A 2nd, 3rd and unplaced, they were Haradas first 3 starters). None had much luck but looked to have okay ability and good chase

Rumour is there's some hot Harada break-ins in Victoria, but like any break-ins/hype they have to back it up
