Trying our best to do his vials justice Alan. Agree, anyone that follows Irish/UK racing can see the gears Sydney puts into his offspring. Also, the abundance of Aussie blood hes clicked with are all on show in his top offspring! Going to be a major shock, if he doesnt sire something very good out here!

Very happy with how the pups look - never seen such quality shiny black coats on greys as our litters have. Hopefully, theyre more than the model lookers, they currently are in the paddock.

What a super bitch you have there to breed with in Farranrory Megan - love her lines. Be surprised if she doesnt produce something very good - despite not getting a chance with Sydney!!

Ye we took her to crash witch crosses nice with our lines we had eight 2 dogs 6 bitches all nice and strong they are six weeks old now, Crash is nearly finished over here there are only a hand full left.
If they have half of her guts and speed we will be delighted, she is rated better than her dad and won the English derby, so fingers crossed mate.

Quote "the Irish standard or quality is at a level far lower then ours and the US" unquote.

So how come the fastest dogs in the World often race at Shelbourne Park on a Saturday night ? Also if the Standard is so superior why do Australian dogs need a lure the size of a Kangaroo and sometimes two Kangaroos ? lack of chase perhaps ?

Just 3 vials Alan for personal use.

Have an almost 12 month old litter - https:/ CLICK HERE

And a 7 month old litter - https:/ CLICK HERE

Were going to do a repeat with Frieda.

That is very "brave", but great to see you backing your judgement three times over. Putting all your eggs in the DS basket could prove to be a genius move or send you back to square one again. Either way, I wish you the very best of luck.

Time will tell, but the calibre of people that are interested in Droopys Sydney pups from Frieda are the elite of elite owners, breeders and trainers. The top end of the game are extremely interested in Droopys Sydney!

The Daily's have invested very heavily in Droopys Sydney. I reckon they would be pretty nervous after the first DS litter they've bred. Just because you are a "Big Name" in the industry doesn't mean you have all the answers. You have been very brave putting the same line to DS 3 times. As you say time will tell if you are a genius or sadly mistaken. I hope for your and Scott's sake, it's the former.

2 things

1. Have you ever seen a kangaroo? Very rare they're not minimum 4ft tall, usually closer to 6ft

2. 100% there's chase issues, but that's because there's a fascination on either outcross or breeding/crossing back to an Australian sire that should remain 8 generations ago. There's a reason Australias dregs have dominated overseas but most of Irelands/Americas best have flopped in Australia

I see it as a good thing. Tells me if you're thinking of repeat mating you think Droopys Sydney will produce better (at a minimum to your lines) than Fernando Bale

And don't get me wrong, I'm not an American or Irish sire hater because I really like spiral Nikita, Kinloch brae, sh avatar. All I'm saying is I like to see results before I use a outcross because a lot do bring in more negative than positive attributes

I doubt very much the Dailleys are the worrying type and neither am I. Im the adventurous type and get most excited about trying to breed a good dog. Its what keeps all breeders breeding. The challenge and thrill of it all. Plenty to like about Droopys Sydney blood for future generations as well.

And thats fair enough, each to their own. Its the same with the Aussie sires, for breeders.

I will be surprised if theres not a better match than Fernando Bale. Ive not only stated that privately to the co-ownership group. But, when interviewed on the Catching Pen last year.

Using Fernando Bale, was not how I bred Frieda Las Vegas or Merchant Navy. Having said that, there was enough to do the mating and at this stage were more than happy with the one we have with TZ. We deliberately let her mature off what everyone has told us about Fernando Bale. So, shes only just been put into pre-training and her first trial, was very satisfactory!

100% it's exactly the same with first season Australian sires. There has been plenty that haven't produced what was expected of them

As my mate used to say. "Let some other d!(%head prove them for you, before you waste your time and money on unproven sire". Regardless of whether it is a local or an import sire.

You might have to pay a bit more once they are proven. But you could have saved yourself many tens of thousands of dollars in the long run.

And still we have the big 4 Aussie sires with woeful stats:-

Fernando Bale 17% wins stat overall / 16% city wins
Barcia Bale 15% / 15%
Aston Dee Bee 17% / 16%
Zambora Brockie 15% / 17%

Zambora Brockie is the fascinating one. As no one wanted to know about him unproven. They put him back on the track at 5yo, due to lack of interest. How many still couldnt get a result from him or the others even well proven (see above).

No wonder people bag sires, they sure has hell wont bag themselves.

Yes but no. When a sire has half the field sometimes even if they get the winner there's 3 that lose

If you go through a sires percentages anything over about 17% win is almost considered upper echelon. The sire of the highest prizemoney dog ever is going at 8% this year and he's considered a gun sire where a straw will cost you $6k+ and imo is deserving of it

Matt, thats self preservation. In reality considered top echelon is not top echelon. Even if fields are stacked with say Fernando Bale ones, they arent all considered serious winning chances!

Thats not actually a guarantee that you will get anything decent from it

And what does the term 'proven' mean?

A winner at The Gardens in a maiden over 272m in 15.90 or Moree over 300m or 288m at Ipswich in 17.5?

A winner at Wenty in 30.60

The definition of proven is pretty loose?

Maybe the term proven should mean a Group 3 winner or at the very least a Group 3 finalist?

Or to give it value to apply to any greyhound that can run within 0.5 sec within a track record over 440m or more

Sone criteria needs to be set for the terminology

At least then it may mean something valuable...otherwise it is just another BS term to sell frozen semen or push an agenda to say something is better than what it actually is

At least Droopys Sydney, whichever way you want to look at it, has definitely got the runs on the board with season after season of GROUP WINNERS in Ireland and UK, which now is our next biggest greyhound region following the demise of the USA

Well said Sandro Droopys sydney has proved him self in Ireland and the Uk if Nathan wants to keep running him down its because he is jealous of Darren, because he is the only one to put his hand in his pocket and buy sydneys straws witch have now all gone.
