I am trying to ascertain what an Aston Dee Bee vial drawn in November 2018 (his first liter whelped 27th Sept 2018) might be worth.
Not looking for pup deals or anything like that - just trying to decide if I retain it or not.

Thanks in advance.

You would have to agree money back if no pups as replacement straws not available.

No ? There are no more straws ..! If you wish to take the chance , take it !
The seller has no responsibility for it after sale let alone paying for an unfortunate circumstance that might have had nothing to do with the straw

It happens with all last vials

There are steps you take with your brood to increase success in your favour ! If you dont take them , its on you as a breeder

I agree 100% with your comments. But you have me intrigued as too what steps you consider beneficial Nathan?

We always give the bitch a course of antibiotics. Have a little bit of condition on her to put into the pups. Keep her healthy and worm free (goes without saying really). Make sure her bloods are good.

Is there anything else people should consider?

There are foods or tonics that breeders believe or swear by in the lead up to insemination
I forget them . Ive always laughed at them when told what they are . Lol each to their own but .

Take your brood to a vet to be cleaned out also , this is a bit more factual or scientifically proven correct as many broods have had failed procedures and then cleaned out and bang ! Success

Bloods are a must also obviously , specifically check if she is thyroidal ! Can be detrimental to the outcome if not on medication when should be .

Well worth it imop

I think it is important for the seller to provide the vial details before a sale is concluded, thereby allowing the buyer the opportunity to check with GA the results of vials from the same draw.
The other important point to lower the buyer's risk is to ensure a high-quality greyhound vet is used for the insemination procedure.
