What current sires available in Australia are throwing the most hard chase and kill. Are their any that are consistantly improving these traits.

My observations point to Bombastic shiraz.
Although I have a litter of Oxley tigers, they are the good old fashioned rip it off the arm and tear it to threads type chasers.Probably coming from acacia ablaze.

I know Go Wild Teddy is no longer with us, but he tops my list for chase and early pace. Straws of him are still available.

That's the type we need.....not these steroid-pumped fairy floss sires

Maybe some of those old lines will make a comeback now in this new age of 'drug-free' racing

Any names?

Agree with Bombastic Shiraz. Although not for early speed, I reckon the Primo Uno's go alright as well (with a few notable exceptions).

Were still about 5 years off seeing the "needle free" stud dogs tho Sandro, there's a few at stud now who "just made the cut in time" so they will get the bitches and a million or two, but with EPO almost gone ( intersting side fact about the "bank" of swabs to be tested that have been taken over the last 5 yrs ??? mmmmm ) that's the big one to hurt the big trainers then we will see real dogs racing for the 1st time in the history of greyhound racing.

PS . Going on from the EPO bank of swabs to be tested, how would a breeder go in court suing a studmaster for fraud ( or whatever the correct wording would be for the crime) for supplying a false product ??? Intersting times ahead, nervous times for some.....

Reckon you only need to look at each sires top offspring, to see the most ferocious chasers and on that basis Surf Lorian gets my vote.

If you need a name, the sire that I think has kicked more goals than any post-steroid days is Collision....the majority of his stock are true chasers and that is what is winning their races

Black Enforcers pups have the reputation of breaking themselves in.
Get the mix right along with rearing and your half way there.
Believe me................Stevo.

unless you are privy to the trainers of these stud dogs ,

as a breeder you have no idea wheather they running on merit , or whatever shit can be pumped into them ,
none of this appears in their glossy adds ,

even when you ask for a dvd, you cant get one of all their races , only the selected ones lolllllllllll

to me promotional dvd's by law should contain all that dogs races ,
how false is it to show say ten races when the dog had 30,

my self i have only ever seen one stud dog in the flesh and that was meticulos, to me a perfect temperment , and id be surprized if he didnt throw good pups , on the track he was a super racer ,

a dog no longer with us that produced good chasers was ROYAL ASSASSIN
mick

Head Honcho lines tended to throw chasers in my opinion, but a lot of them were mad or couldn;t run 500m. Light of Fire/Solve the Puzzle and Golden Currency could throw some fire into the guts.

Maybe it will be those ferocious types, the Solve the Puzzles and Golden Currency's (if there are any left) that could re-emerge without steroids.

Solve the Puzzle is my fave. They were naturals and tough dogs too. They could cope with whatever amount of work in the paddocks you threw at them. That is something I really like in pups. Same does for Bombastic Shiraz. Most from the Head Honcho line were pretty easy although as Dean points out, a few of them were a bit "over the top". Exceptional's were the same ( although that was a trait with his sire, Star Title, as well). Go Wild Teddy seems to be liked by the majority although we have never had any through here. Of the "new" brigade, I really like the Bit Chili's and a litter we just dropped off to the breakers by the import Ahane Lad would be as keen as any imported bred pup we have ever reared. I would be shocked if they cannot gallop a bit.

Steven, There are not many Crash pups in Australia as he was sent to Ireland pretty early and not Frozen is available over here. I have a litter by him ( x Rylee Reason) that are 4 months old and look good...but don't they all at this age. LOL

Hi Cye

Rob is right about Bit Chili....we broke in 4 and they were all mad on the arm.

3 of them broke in basically by themselves they were that keen.

The other was sent to Cudal and even though she was the best of them on the arm she was very puppyish and the penny did not drop while she was there.

A small break and a bit of one on one treatment in the bull ring and she is now chasing as hard as any of her brothers and sisters.

And still as mad keen on the bunny
