Glad you mentioned the number plate Peter as thats what this topic is about , not the knobs on the fence. Ho cares who their riding the welfare of the greyhounds is what trainers get hammered for. The welfare of all those dogs was put at risk. Maybe if they coloured the numbers on both sides it would of been noticed. How good would of that looked on TV if the dog had its leg half chopped off or worse. The antis would of been all over it and made a mockery of the sport. That is why GWIC was formed in the first place. Cheers

Your sounding like a Drama Queen Michael
"How good would of that looked on TV if the dog had it's leg half chopped off or worse" ...........Truth is NOTHING HAPPENED!

That is exactly how the anti's would of portrayed it.

"The welfare of all those dogs was put at risk" How so Michael?

Try and see it for what is was, A careless mistake! fortunately no dog was injured. And put in practice methods to prevent it ever reoccurring again.
Time to move on

Nothing happened did it ?

Maybe instead of talking shyt look at the report
The emergency had a laceration ! You know the other dog that was also next to fallen plate

So Poeple do years work with their canine to finally get to the app pinnacle of our sport and have a metal plate flying around the dogs at the most crucial time of a dogs race and all you can comment on is 3 dudes and say nothing happened ?

There was an incident actually and who cares if nothing eventuated, its like having 3 hazards in your paddocks and getting warned by gwic or a fine and saying to them nothings happened so far ?

Whats your point ?

What if next start to the dog in question who has a wound now , Baulks every time out of the box ?

Still nothing happened ? How do u know how the dog thinks now

As long as 3 dudes had fun but hey ! Thats the important thing isnt it
Rather sound like a drama queen then a dumb Fuk

Look at the report!

excerpt from the Stewards report
"Stewards carefully reviewed both the head on and lateral recordings of the race start and concluded that no effect on the competitors so the "All Clear Was Given" particular attention was paid to the actions of numbers 7 & 9"

The 9 dog Bankrolled received a 14 day stand down for Split Webbing.
Hardly a "Chopped of half leg". And probably had nothing to do with the fallen number plate.
He was noted for several incidents in running, and as you would know Nathan, Split Webbing usually occurs on the matting in front of the boxes

We all put hard work into our dogs, but if anyone thinks that accidents WON'T HAPPEN to their dogs? They are in the wrong sport.
(I've had dogs put down on track, Lure break downs in front of them, Dogs catch the lure, Boxes not opening, Running into the catching pen gate, broken legs, snapped hocks, shattered scapula's, Dropped back muscles etc but blaming someone wont/can't lessen the pain )

Nathan: Adrenalin flowing, dogs blood pumping, heart racing etc HE/SHE wouldn't even feel the Split Webbing.
Now lighten-up, those 3 guys were pretty funny! don't you think?

So every accident you mention is machine failure
The incident at hand was human error which should never happen , no excuses

Like I said you keep saying nothing happened like u know what the dogs in question who ran through a flying plate what they will do next start
You dont know , so your advice on moving on and lighten up is simple , go Fuk yourself

A dogs career could be over through poor or lack of diligence at a track thats rated the best in the state

Wenty in a nutshell

If you didnt have to empty your dog in a public park with Maltese terriers and kelpys catching frisbees or tennis balls (Amateur)
Then kennel your dog in a kennel thats less then 15mtr off the first turn (Amateur)
Then bring your dog out to run through a metal plate (Amateur)
Then to run into a first corner that sees a handful off dogs every meet somersault off it , yeh mate Id probably see some humour or forgiveness in the moment of what can only be called amateur hour all round

But add all these things up for the trainer that just experienced that and say lighten up mate , see ya here next week hey !

Your kidding yourself , so 1. Why are we still racing there in a shit hole that has negative outcomes in all points I just mentioned for welfare and 2. Have to listen to blokes like u saying lighten up ?

I never said a leg was chopped off ? Im merely pointing out how low standards and procedures are in our sport that is laughable , but keep brushing it all under the rug and throwing top cash At the high end kidding ourselves everything is a ok !

Reality ! it resembles what the 3 dickheads Were doing ...... very fitting !

No ones blaming anyone Terry, just saying that risk controls should be in place to stop that happening in 2022. So you dont think a thin metal plate thrown at speed is a risk to a dog Terry and has no potential to do serious injury (yes cut off a leg or major artery) to any of those dogs in that race depending on the trajectory of the plate at box rise. What ways do you think that this issue could be solved Terry because apart from blubbering on with excuses and pretending its OK 👌 because no dogs were injured. Were saying it shouldnt happen at all in this day and age at a premier track. Maybe you should join the jocks down by the fence Terry and just have a good night regardless. Cheers

3 blokes commented about the number issue, 4 commented about the dudes on the fence!......Go figure?

What would you have the Starter do 2 years in Parklea?

READ the Stewards report, they are the PTB in Greyhound Racing. They stated NO DOG was inconvievenced, the BEST dog won AND came out of the 7 BOX! Go and complain to GWIC.

go figure .....

. that theres more idiots in the game then not and no one wants to bite the hand that feeds em ! Which is strange in itself when we operate under a computerised random system ? Weird , I would have thought freedom of speech for the improvement of all involved wouldnt or couldnt be a deterrent

Read the stewards opinion , lol yeh Ill do that , more great advice

Complain to gwic

Yep thats the idea of the thread dude ! You know , to better and advance the sport so it doesnt resemble the 3 dudes you love so much

2 years in parklea

Where did anyone ask for someone to to do time ? Now your spinning your own shit and putting words into peoples mouths
The problem starts at the top and its procedures handed out , hence I said its wake up time Aus wide .
Some knob once told me if you arent prepared to do the 1%ers you shouldnt be in the game , well does checking for a clear box exit fall under a 1% job ? Or does this rule only apply when it suits

Ireland / euro countries etc are regarded 3rd in the world behind Aus and US in the sport yet they manage to a simple little thing like check the whole boxing area before a green light or in their case a flag is waved !
Which leads to what other things are we behind in and can change , seeding , split kenneling so no dog sits in a space of an washing machine for over 4 hours etc
Or even just a track where you empty in privacy and not with pets and frisbees

Cant put brains in statues , rest my case

Nathan do you hear any complaints coming from the Wallace or Mark Gatt kennel? If they have no problem, why do you?
"Maybe instead of talking shyte you read the report" Your own advice to me!

Ha ha 2 years in Parklea? was a starting point! What should happen in your eyes?
(Maybe install "Magnetised Plates" or new "Plastic Plates with a rubber edging")?

Split Kennelling has been debated before. Box seeding should be tried.
FOL introduced at some meetings, not all imo (We'll get there)

I totally agree with the Wenty Park emptying out area! Atrocious!
and $15 for the privilege if not a GBOTA member.

You mentioned all the good points about Irish racing, but missed the PIVOTAL one. P/M how could/would you survive? They race for the love of the game.

Maybe they dont give a shit ? I dont know and wont speak for them
Does it matter , my points are valid and 100% true , not opinionated, thats all the matters

Like I said no one speaks out , why ?
Ill let u figure that out on your own

What should happen is an over haul on a lot of things bud that Ive mentioned over and over again that yes everyone does complain about in private

Thats the point of this thread it starts with one mishap but you could make a list and where does it stop ?

It shouldnt finish with lighten up but

Magnetic plates could be the way to go for numbers 9 and 10. Again no one cares who has a problem with it, just that it shouldnt happen. Magnetic Plates, good idea Terry, now your on track. Cheers

Did you notice the camera work on Sat/night at Wenty? No close-up's of the patrons on the fence. Bugger!
