We've always used drontal but where I get mine from have a warning now not use on pregnant bitches, they suggest panacur liquid.

Daryl,
I agree with David - Drontal Plus for the bitch but only use it on a pregnant bitch upto 6 weeks into pregnancy. Do not use after 6 weeks.

We've not used Drontal puppy suspension but I understand it is very good. We actually use Panacur Liquid for the pups from 7 days old then weekly until 6 weeks old, then every 2 weeks until fully weaned.

You can also give the bitch the Panacur a day after whelping.

Good luck with the litter Daryl.

regards,
Maureen

Daryl

Panacur 10% Liquid from Day 40 of pregnancy, every day through to 3 days after birth, give 1/4 of their weight in ML's.. eg:If she weighs 32kg give her 8mls

Drontal is not recommended for pregnant bitches, it may be okay but the actual manufacturers state its not safe.

I personaly worm my bitches just before mating then try to give them no chemicals at all..........just the Panacur at 6 weeks onward as Dave suggests.

Giving any drugs in the early stages of pregnancy can effect puppy growth....so try not too.

Currently have bitch in pup 6 1/2 weeks - planning to use Panacure 10% daily - is the dose 1/4 of normal body weight or current body weight?
