Thanks for the positive feedback Ryan, many many "flat earth" believers in the industry. I am looking for any injured dogs (in the central Vic area) to scan to gain further experience, should anyone be interested.....
Cheers.
Rich.

Hi everyone, I have a thermal imaging camera, got it from the US (7 yrs ago) and trained over there under a vet who did all my reporting for the first 2 years (it also helps that I'm actually a radiographer too so imaging and positioning is second nature) I originally brought my camera for equine use but have imaged a number of dogs. I love my camera and wouldn't be without it BUT it is very dependent on situation (ie you need to have dog in a constant temp area to normalise the body temp) no liniment or covers on the dog for 45mins.
I use a comparison system to look for anomalies, and also look for cold area as they also indicate injury (where a dog is not using an area effectively it will appear cold).
My camera cost $20K 7 years ago, is still going strong. I wouldn't recommend just going out and purchasing one unless you are going to do the training on how to image, and then have someone experienced enough to look at the images. BUT it is a very useful tool and I picked up a massive infection in a leg (had been fractured and plated but was still sore) that need re-opening and flushing and AB's into the joint.
Good luck everyone and a happy to answer any other questions about it... Im based in NZ.

Years ago I was selected for imaging at the airport security. I had your in the pelvis at the time and was very sore. Showed up as a golf ball sized black spot. Obviously theirs is top of the range.
