I was thinking it was a relatively quiet night for the GOAT tonight at Wenty, until I checked closer. 3 winners and Grandsire of 3. Another outstanding effort.

Just wondering if breeders/rearers of Fernando Bale pups noticed if harder working pups in yards/runs turned out to be better than others on the race track?

Darren, if you go off AGRA Group & Listed races alone, Aussie is about 7 rather than 21. 2018 & 2019 - total litters 33. Out of them, we had group / listed winners Zipping Krygios, Ebby Infrared, Catch the Thief/Playlist, Amarillo Highway. That's 1 in 8 just off the top of my head. But then you count the many other feature race (non AGRA listed) , like the many in the Saachi litter, the figure improves. Litters post 31-12-2019 are not old enough to have enough racing life to judge, with most yet to turn 2 but if you start to go through early 2020 litters, feature race winners are running 1 in 5 litters. The majority of Aussie litters are not at education yet. I am all for measures but can not see how Aussie is at 21.
Ps. this is the Fernando Bale thread and not meaning to hijack it. FB deserves all the praise that goes his way, performance speaks for itself. cheers.

I counted all litters racing. If someone wants to audit that stat about Aussie, please do. The true comparison with Aussie should be against his contemporaries Zambora Brockie and Aston Dee Bee. And hes ahead of them on the list. Youd expect the stats for those 3 to improve in time.

My point is if you draw a cut off at 2 years old or older, its somewhere around 1 in 7 . It seems when you include all litters racing, you are then including dogs very early in their race careers and dogs in litter not racing. A fairer comparison would be to count litters of mature age only (say 3 years or older). I do however, understand your point about comparing contemporaries. I think for its faults, the objective comparisons are the Greyhound Recorder stats, the stats page allows you to go back a long way, example I got this as top 10 Fernando Bale 157717 28224 25254 22682 $99,490,648 18% 48% 428620 Barcia Bale 203970 32445 28359 27746 $92,607,682 16% 43% 493378 Collision 191531 28210 26551 25282 $63,288,156 15% 42% 438868 Fabregas 121797 18687 18057 17153 $44,253,699 15% 44% 293404 Cosmic Rumble 139193 19069 18113 18090 $42,542,625 14% 40% 299322 Bombastic Shiraz 126182 17486 16975 16937 $42,370,024 14% 41% 276634 Where's Pedro 135846 19340 18033 17664 $41,880,528 14% 41% 300860 Magic Sprite 138858 20213 18330 17924 $41,786,808 15% 41% 311298 Kinloch Brae 75133 10261 10327 10162 $29,686,436 14% 41% 164242 Surf Lorian 111424 14090 14909 15180 $28,344,406 13% 40% 230896

Greyhound Recorder stats are good but they still can't account for litters/pups that don't make the track or barely make the track. Or multiple pups by the same sire in a race (plenty of races now where half the field is Fernando bale, my redeemer or Aussie Infrared). Or they do city winner percentages, would a lot of sires look worse if they didn't include non tab/tier 3?

Another great night for the GOAT last night at both Wenty and The Meadows + Young Guns Quinella at Ipswich.
Got to admire the fact his sons and daughters are continuing on his legacy with some very impressive performances.
It's a pleasure to see him continue to dominate.
