If he has a chink in his amour.....its a genetic defect.

I've got a litter of 10 by Fernando......4 males.
3 with no balls....the other has one ball.

Champion sire.....but I won't use him again.

in our experience, plenty of other sires produce the same result ,,

and yes one of our fernandos has no balls ,

if we were to not use him again it would not be for that reason alone

Agree Michael - plenty of others. Wonder if Ricky has a change of heart if he gets top class pups.

Weak Defensive posts fellas.
Nobody stating FB is not the best sire in Australia. FB is the best producing sire weve had in a long time. However his far from perfect.
Shame that some are scared to pin the tail on the donkey. Easier to talk up a tall poppy scenario. Im disappointed

as greyhound breeders, we are breeding for speed/endurance

we are not breeding for type (showdogs)

so along the way imperfections will happen , with any sire

no balls isnt the only problem breeders have encountered with fernando

but when you look at his stats i just cant see a reason not to use him if you want FAST PUPS,
dont forget your bitch may play a part in all this , and her sire and mother

I don't know if non decended testicles is just a FB issue. I was talking to a mate with 3 male Zambora Brookie pups and they only have 3 testicles between them.

Our family have bred litters that had males with testicle "issues" etc etc over the decades from sires like West Cape, New Fox & Brett Lee just to name a few & it never hindered their natural ability to win races in town & on tab tracks. We never bred from them only the bitches from those litters. Just saying this genetic "disorder" as some put it happens with most sires I've heard about over many decades , a lot of it can stem from the paternal side of your broodbitch's pedigree , so blaming the sire used all the time is a bit unfair when the broodbitch's genetics play a huge part in determining a pups constitution. If the animal has natural gifted ability to gallop fast I couldn't care less if 1 of its testicles hadn't dropped or was missing. Fernando Bale has nothing left to prove as a sire in my opinion as his results speak for themselves & & his bitches & son's that will go onto to stud like Tommy Shelby for example will throw on his superior genes for the future of the breed itself. Just my opinion on this subject folks though some may disagree.

Roughly, Fernando has served about 1,1oo bitches in 6 years, Barcia about 1,500 in 8 years!!! Third couldn't care less. But Ghee, that's a big head start on the rest. Numbers mean winners, always has, always will. ( yes, we do have Fernandos).

He initially got bitches because he was the world's greatest racing greyhound. He continues to get bitches at a lucrative stud fee because he's the world's greatest sire. Plain and simple.

I'm afraid if anyone just blindly puts all their faith in Fernando Bale they're setting themselves up for disappointment and financial loss

No one is arguing Fernando Bale can throw a talented pup, but it's just weight in numbers. If I father 50 children 1 might go to the Olympics, but chances are 5 will have a disability (not meant to be insensitive, but gets my point across)
