Where are the knockers that reckon he can't throw more than 300m dogs??
I admit early on I was a bit concerned to. But as per another thread, of course young pups start their careers over the shorter distances and build up to 500+.
Like all the greats, people tend to try to knock down the best.

Agree, hes an absolute standout!
That he was from the first time he stood on a track.
Just look at that pedigree & ask yourself....How could you go wrong.

This beautifully bred youngster by Barcia Bale x Aston Elle (Bombastic Shiraz x Elite Oriental) CLICK HERE is a flying machine.
He's had 6 starts for 4 wins & 2 minors and broke the 460m track record at Warragul last week, running 25.34.
Trained by Jason Thompson & owner by Ray Borda, this pup (bar injury) is going places.
Someone's a good judge ;-)

With him coming from a sire producing dam line - Awesome Assassin, Lilli Pilli Lad, Knocka Norris...even Robust Character and Trousers sired some good ones. He along with Orson Allen for similar reasons are what most would expect to have kicked goals on the track and at stud. Especially, with the dam line arguably the quickest in the country for decades...is there a dam line with more track records to its name???
Anyway, good pick Steve and to see him heading in the right direction. As Ive got a brood which looks perfectly suited to him...

ADB has well and truly proved that he clicks with staying lines, his Crafty Lady Litter is the prime example !

Its probably more to do with ADB, doesnt really offer any added strength in his pedigree. Rather than clicking with staying lines. Like was mentioned elsewhere...a genuine 500m line is always going to give you the best chance of 500m racers. Otherwise you need to be looking at strength lines to add into your pedigree...
I don't think Aston Dee Bee adds any stamina, but he isn't taking anything away either.
Black Avenger has already run 30.00 at meadows
I'm confident One Cold Hombre will get 500m and I know for a fact the fastest in the litter broke down before getting the chance to race (check your PM's Darren)

I think there is an opportunity to line breed Bombastic Shiraz with Aston Dee Bee
Bombastic Shiraz has been one of the predominant lines in Australia for Strength and Chase for well over a decade now
Zambora Brockie has shown that line breeding Bombastic Shiraz has added strength to pedigrees
I believe it will be a major factor going forward
In saying that, adding stronger damlines and sires proven to throw stronger dogs to speed-orientated sires like Aston Dee Bee will lift the pool of 500m greyhounds over time

I notice one third of ADB top performers are too dams with outcross sires. Two thirds ADB is throwing to dams with Temlee blood saturation. ADB showing versatility as a sire

Is it time to confirm he clicks best with strong top notch race bitches. Which is hardly a revelation I suppose.

And he doesn't contain the magical & amazing.....so-called marvellous & breathtaking, which can sometimes be described as heart-stopping 18.8%.
Totally incredible.

I don't know if one example debunks the theory completely. You only have to step back one and two generations to find strong incredibly classy Group 1 bitches.
