Broken through the 1000 win barrier for the calendar year this afternoon with a heap of winners across the country in the past week .
Hopefully more to come 2023 & 2024.. with Aussie not really gaining momentum at stud until he was an older dog .. we are currently seeing the 2020 whelpings into their race careers.
2018 15 litters 2019 18 litters 2020 44 litters
2021 65 litters 2022 (forecast) 88 litters.
Litter results remain excellent with 95% conception rate and average 7.25 pups a litter this year.
Very much looking forward to the future Aussies coming through and late next year we should see Aussies first crop as dam sire hit the track with his outcross set to produce some excitement on that front !

Quick Shadow owned and trained by Kathleen Reynolds has broken the 383 m Darwin track record tonight, running 21.76, formerly held by WA champion Vice Grip.
Quick Shadow already holds the Darwin 312 m record so that makes 2 of the 3 distances .
Quick Shadow is part of the amazing Fascinate Mary litter bred by Noelene Holloway. Litter brother Fascinate Donald winning the FFA Richmond Race Club - Greyhounds tonight and being a former track record holder at the track .
Well done to all involved !

So good to see that line still producing. My very first broody was a litter sister to Oh Behave. Miss Forrester. Oh Behave was such a stunning bitch, a great race dog and such a sweetheart.

After reading the above no wonder Greyhound Breeders have now been listed on the
"ENDANGERED SPECIES LIST"

Hi Mark,
as most breeders know, Aussie made his way to success off only a very small number of girls in his first two seasons at stud (15 & 18 litters). Even his third year at stud, bitches were relatively light on.
It was really only until each of the last 2 years, on the back of the success of his progeny, that he became a big hit .
Over the past 2 years, to support breeders, we maintained the price as long as we could, and part of the way we were able to achieve that, was to put conditions that effectively limit sales to bitches on or due on season .
In turn, that assists us manage his longevity in terms of his own welfare and availability to market.
Now he is almost 9 years old now, it is not realistic to offer replacement outside a short window, and the conditions also help maintain the price for genuine current breeders.
We have offered longer in the past, if Aussie was still a spring chicken , we would offer a longer window. I offer a longer period on Ebby Jet Power.
cheers.

That's all pretty normal now. Matter of fact not that long ago I called up a studmaster (Barcia bale son) to say my broodie I bought the straw for had a false season (she ended up being quite unwell which was causing the bleeding). The response I got was you have 3 months to use it and can only use it on the nominated broodie at time of purchase or the return was null and void. So in other words there was no return regardless

The reports I'm hearing is Ebby Jet Power will be the better son at stud anyway. If you think Aussies first crop were good you just wait

I agree 100% but I didn't read fine print. At least with Aussie Infrared it's in black and white before you've purchased the straw

The times they are a changin.
With some of the best sires going infertile and having dozens of misses, it does seem very restrictive to put such limitations on return services.
I've never liked the restrictions placed on sires services to be honest. If he is fertile enough let him serve I say.
Got to love a sire like Aussie Infrared he has really earned his fee. With so many over hyped over priced sires around.
