Its been great to be back on track again.

Weve seen a couple of outstanding performances over the last 2 weeks from Nemesis and Cromac Willow.

Links to their performances can be found on FB.

Its also been great to have continued sponsorship from ONeills Dog Food Company. They have been working on improvements to their PRO formula over the last few months and the feedback from trials has reportedly been very positive.

The new formula is now available :-)

TT THERMAL INSULATION AND MAGICAL BALE OAKS KICKS-OFF AT DERRY
Peter Farrell (on Talking Dogs on GRI website)

Kindly sponsored by Tony Teague and the connections of Magical Bale, the first round of the TT Thermal Insulation Contractors & Magical Bale Oaks takes centre stage at the Brandywell in Derry tonight with four first round heats down for decision.

The competition itself offers a handsome first prize with 1,000 added to the total prize fund, as well as a free service to Magical Bale, which in itself, is a carrot worth chasing given the incredible start he has made to his stud career.

In the opening heat of the night, Canada Goose is expected to be all the rage given her most recent performance at Derry where she was just a length and a half shy of the track record. Its also worth noting that Stephen Townsleys bitch, although well beaten by Coolavanny Duke in her latest start, was a big eye-catcher in defeat and should prove a class above her opposition tonight if putting her best foot forward. Of her rivals, Fayes The Boss makes most appeal, while recent Daniel Canning Memorial winner, Skirk Illusion, is another who could get involved.

Chocktaw Rosie was a brilliant winner on her last start at Derry and she is the one to beat in heat two. Kim Gervins bitch clocked a slick 29.17 for the 525-yards in her most recent start and any repeat of that performance would be more than enough to land the spoils once again. However, Beautiful Peggy and Hatmore Ava represent live threats to the jolly and Chocktaw Rosie can ill-afford any slip-ups early on.

Heat three looks the most open of the four heats on offer but the narrow vote goes to the Tony Teague-owned Old Fort Misty. The August 19 whelp has been keeping good company in Kilkenny in recent weeks and if she can bring her impressive sectional clocks to Derry, she will be a force to be reckoned with. Of her rivals, Summer Swirl posted a serious 16.59 last time out for the 300-yard trip and she will no doubt play a part early on, while Shakethebarley is an interesting entry and could also go well.

The final heat of the night is another head-scratcher. Gotheratlast clocked 21.50 at Dundalk in only her third career start and although out of luck since that, she is entitled to improve given she is only a November puppy. In contrast, Real Class is a seasoned performer and despite being without a win in over ten months, she has kept some excellent company during that time and wont be far away if trapping on terms.

HUGE EFFORTS

The TT Thermal Insulation Contractors & Magical Bale Oaksfollows on from the very successful recent runnings of the Daniel Canning Memorial 500, the Track Lotto & Len McKinney Transporter 500, and the Track Lotto Brandywell Derby. Its fair to say that competitions come thick and fast at Derry track and this is testament to the brilliant work done behind the scenes in order to secure sponsorship for these events. That said, many thanks are extended to the sponsors and the Oaks will no doubt prove another top-class event.
