Bitch not three till March, been in a paddock nearly all of 2020 due to the worst dropped muscle i have ever seen. Under the care of Matt Kwong ( did tell us pretty forlorn) on fortnightly basis. After coming back into work trialling as good as ever. Was always going to breed from her, so had C5 done, purchased an American straw (over 3k stored at Colyton vet),had D.N.A kitted Colyton vet, way before Christmas. Phoned GWIC today, asking " what's doin?" Then told must fill out a 2 page document with a vet about the bitch's health.( see the questions). Unfortunately, muscle has gone again and had decided a different sire and to buy another straw (6k+).So that leaves us with a C5 Vet visit, another for DNA kit, another for the 2 page vet inquisition, starting to run into dollars and time. That's a lot of vet visits. What bunch of dopes sit around a table, thinking this "shit" up? BREEDERS BEWARE, NEW RULES.

I think I missed something here.

Is it GWICs fault that you changed your mind on the sire?

Do you need to get a DNA done more than once now?
Are C5 shots required more often than 12 months now?
Can't you do the DNA, C5 and paperwork at the vet in the same visit?

Apparently the 2 page document is a new " thought bubble"and was only made aware of it after the C5 shot and DNA kitting resulting in another vet visit. My point is, no one is going to breed from a bitch who not in pristine condition given the cost of stud fee, AI, possible caesarean ,vaccinations. It's a two page "drivel" document.

The issue I have with GWIC at the moment is that their systems aren't showing any of the dogs I currently own as available for naming

Instead they want me to name pups that I haven't owned/sold on that were born 6 years ago...WTF?

When I queried them they said they have problems with their systems and that I would need to email them a list of the pups that I currently own and needed to be named

I can't believe with all the money that is supplied to them that their systems aren't backed up to restore the record for a particular breeder or owner

Now I need to go through all my records to supply them with the pups I own and they will add them to my record manually

What a complete ballsup that is...its archaic and its unprofessional and not what we as participants deserve

Thank God I don't breed as many as guys like Hallinan or Wheelers...it would be a major exercise for those breeders to supply them with all these details

The irony of it is that they are promoting life cycle tracking as being at the forefront of their welfare and integrity program....

At the moment they have no clue of what dogs I currently bred or own and I suspect that there are a lot of others in the same boat.

How can they track where dogs are when their basic infrastructure is inadequate....a major investigation needs to be made into this immediately

Its a vital part of our welfare and integrity systems and only opens up arguments for the Anti's that we are not conducting our business properly and that dogs are being lost through the system

I'm over the recent HITLER approach, us breeders have been labelled with since 2015.

I'm talking about those who have earnt their strips over decades of breeding, & have fully co-operated with officials at the drop off a hat.

It's like we've all been thrown in the same hat as those that brought the industry to its knees.

Seriously regarding the original post.....if your fair-dinkum, ask yourself, would you breed with a bitch that was "Scabby"....just to sum it up in one word?

The world's gone mad. No wonder I haven't bred a litter in over 2 years. It just ain't worth the time & effort no more.

PS.....Hi Sandro. Been there done that. Took days & days & lots of back & forth emails to achieve that tick a couple of years ago. Thank god I haven't got any dogs atm. Couldn't go through it again.

Steve

I am still in the game but the authorities are making it impossible for people to keep track of their own dogs, where they should be able to provide these systems by simply logging in

GRV Fasttrack can give me every dog I have bred or owned or had a share in for the last 20 years

Maybe we should be hiring their programmers instead of reinventing the wheel

I will be sending a strong email to the Chief Commisisoner, Alan Brown and to the representatives in the Animal Welfare Committee

This situation cannot persist...its just not fair and quitable to the people who are investing hard earned dollars and all their time into the sport

Agree with everything you've said......& FASTTRACKS is pretty much 99% right with me too.

Sign in, press a "TAB" & everything is at your fingertips regarding your personal involvement in this sport over the years.

And like you said, WHY reinvent the wheel when it already exists?

FASTTRACKS should be the NATIONAL website for everything greyhounds.
It should including all Race day form, Breeding Stats, the whole bl00dy lot nationwide.

It's been the leader in this area since it started in around early 2000.

It's time the industry had just ONE national Website.

That's my rant for the day. Back to GWIC More Bastardry and Roadblocks re Breeders.

I agree that Fasttrack is better but there must be a massive communication problem between GWIC and Fasttrack as it can take months for NSW bred Litters to be put on Fasttrack or updated !!!!
