Well done Damian Matthews your doing a great job promoting greyhound and how we treat them keep up the good work well done to your committee IGOBF After watching racing's post TV it give you confidence going forward
Hopefully what I heard today is only a rumour because the work that has been done to increase the interest in the the greyhound game for the younger generation has been 2nd to none this past while now unfortunately today I was told that from the 1st of March no one under the age of 18 will be allowed to enter any stadium for racing or trials I hope this is not true because if it is its the end of greyhound racing how many son and daughters help every day of the week at home with the kennel and look forward to go racing at the weekend hope someone can clarify this on another note was also told that all hare covers are being changed to orange from the 1st of march

Sorry Niall but that makes no sense. I can understand that rule being applied under COVID restrictions as it is the case with certain retailers. But are you implying that it will be the case going forward? I find that very hard to believe.
No I didn't say anything about going forward I said I was told that from the 1st of March I don't know the ins and outs as they say just that U18s will not be able to enter the greyhound premises hoping someone can clarify
I hope your right padjoe it would be an absolute disaster if it is true but I can't see a member of staff saying it if there was no truth in it

No grounds for this, no word about any such measures. We are promoting our youngsters and their dedication to our great sport, not driving them away.
Padjoe, trialling before racing two weeks ago was informed that the two kids would have to leave the track as they weren't allowed in even though I had two dogs to trial .......who and where are we promoting our youngsters??????
How many dogs did you have Paul. If it was one dog, then the rules apply.

David, i am not sure what's going on in some tracks, but we are unique in Ireland where we still have our youngsters involved in greyhounds and can have them on parade with us. Pre COVID that is. It would be a great shame if that changed. The Federation will put it on the agenda for our next discussion.

Padjoe, Rather than relying on a lot of secondhand information, would it make sense if the Irish Greyhound Owners and Breeders Federation were to contact the Greyhound Racing Ireland and get an official response.
