Was sitting at home last night watching the Bulli races and it was sad to see Poppy Jack go amiss. The dog has had some minor issues in the past and Ruth and Danielle have done a tremendous job looking after this big boy.

He has been very unlucky in his racing career at times, and in my humblest of opinions I think the dog has plenty of talent. A speedy recovery hopefully for him. I'd like to see him win a group or listed race.

Yeah was horrible to see. Hopefully he makes a full recovery and a comeback, but if he doesn't I won't be surprised to see Matics give him a couple of litters

Bulli track is responsible for 11 major injuries in the last month Poppy did his tarsal bone and I trialled Midnight Monarch at Bulli he fractured a hock. The track is too hard and should be closed until its satisfactory IMO.They have fascination with quick times but surface is substandard.

What are we paying GWIC for, if they can't regulate such an occurrence

Tracks have been a concern for some time, I've spoken with Steve Noyce and Tony Mestrov in relation to this and received very different answers. Wauchope and Taree as grass tracks and newly nominated tab venues are just not up to scratch. Running rails and course circumference are a major concern and both tracks already have had fatalities and major injuries since turning tab. Race interference at both these venues is also terrible.

Running time should never be a concern. After all you don't get paid additional for breaking track records. When we turned to loam hock's became every trainers nightmare. Tracks do not need to be rock hard on major race nights. The other issue is GWIC have a role to steward meetings and uphold rules. The one thing they do not seem concerned with is engaging with race night staff on award wages who are responsible for track preparation. How can anyone employed to maintain a track take any self pride in his or her work, when they are paid peanuts.

I've said it once and I will say it again. Greyhound welfare on race night is my only concern. Track preparation and dog welfare must be without doubt, our number one priority on race night. It makes me sick in the stomach seeing beautiful animals put to sleep because of human stupidity.

Track jnjuries are coming out of the track rebate scheme funds covered by GWIC but track preparation is under the management of GRNSW.Is there a great divide between the two as surely whoever is paying the bills knows how much its costing and that is not triggering an alert in the system! Our elite dogs need better care to showcase greyhound racing at the top level instead of catering for mediocrity as is the case in NSW.
