When a dog has won 50% of its races and is placed in a race where dogs are apparently struggling for form , hence title ......battlers race !

Struggle to come up with anything else then poor form from rules or persons in charge or just another example where Poeple look at our sport in laughter and suggest fowl play

Why wouldnt they , drew the 8 also
Bulli race 3

So now you have to have a 22.50 dog to win a battlers
Why would you even turn up

Joke !!

Mate, the 50%, you did'nt mention, was one win out of 2 starts, the other dogs in race had won 3,1,2,6,1,7,3 races respectively. Try race 5 no 6 Goulburn Friday. One win but in against one dog won it's first six + WP win, another 2 WP wins. Trainers doing nothing wrong, only taking advantage of grading rules. Just as you or i would do in the same situation That's called "tough titties".

Taking advantage of rules doesnt make them correct or fair for the other 7 trainers and their dogs !
It is a battlers race for dogs struggling out of form

Winning 1 from 2 isnt struggling for form whatever way you look at it !

The fact that you call it taking advantage says it all

If the current set up is deemed correct , race needs to be renamed
The unlucky maiden winners !

The fact that there is more that agree with a possible young hotshot turning up and drilling struggling dogs shows what most Poeple are putting first .......
it aint the dogs !

Poor all round , but hey who gives a , thats our industry! Thru and thru

Battlers or Pathways ?

Battlers - should be that your dog hasnt won in last ten (10) starts and you can add other conditions to suit e.g. no city winners.

Pathways - bottom up grading on points

Btw, wheres the bottom up grading now and then for meetings? Especially, Country or even TAB.

Russ....the bulli club are a laugh....the word battlers race does not imply pathways....and Bulli club should hang themselves...it's false advertisement....can the club explain why they do not hold pathway races and continue to provide this garbage format...drink shoeys was graded in a battlers race for christ's sake a few months ago.....it's a shit go from a shit club....and they wonder why they struggle for nominations...

The worst graded races are the masters, Greyhounds with any amount of wins sometimes racing against greyhounds with 1 or 2 wins.Bessy Boo was a great example of this ,midweek in a masters against 4 year old 5th graders and , saturday night in the best 8 at wenty,

battlers races should only be held once a month on tab tracks for dogs that have not won a race in there last 6 starts and grade from the bottom up as for the masters races they should be kept at short races of 400m on tab tracks and 500m at city only and i would not blame the grader he can only work with the noms he has .if you have a masters dog with 1 or 2 wins and your not happy to go in a 1/2/3 grade just wait for a 3 grade only .

dont get me started on masters ....my older dog hadnt won in 20 races and so masters was the only option, then comes up against a previous FFA winner with 30 career wins, still winning at FFA company, great for them, who then wins the masters race at 1.05 and 8lengths, trainer basically taking the piss out of the 7 other old dogs running

i sent an email to GRV grading and got a really sarcastic response basically saying tough luck
