Is it true with the new Rapid Antigen Test to be adopted by
Greyhound Racing N.S.W. For those who have not been jabbed
twice, will have to pay $20 A test.

Hi Michael - I think GRNSW has made a great compromise. There will always be members of society (participants or public) that for medical reasons are unable to be vaccinated. RATs provide a way for them to continue to participate or to come and spend money at the venue.

The Racing Victoria (RV) for horsies position may have an exemption process for those that can't be vaccinated on medical or religious grounds but I dunno, I don't attend horse racing.

Mick, there are genuine reasons why people choose not to take vaccines, such as previous adverse reactions including permanent disability and death of loved ones.
It should never be mandated anywhere.
I applaud GRNSW for providing choice and I hope GRV do the same.

Hi Julie,
This is a discussion topic for all concerned, without malice
intended, and your reply will be accepted without my single
answer to the implication of this new ruling either way.

GRNSW or GRV or whoever it is (even a pub or club). Why? Because patrons and participants money is just as green and legal tender regardless of your vaccination status. You can't rebuild an economy if you exclude even 10-15% of those from being a part of daily life.

RATs are a fantastic way of managing the minority in a public health sense - sane and safe way without excluding them from being valid members of society. They pay their taxes same as the vaccinated, they use toll roads and contribute same as the vaccinated.

The argument needs to be about letting business re-open and available to all while managing public health risk. It has never been a black and white argument so much as the media likes to convey for drama. There'll always be a portion of society unable to be vaccinated on health and religious (faith) grounds.

Pathogens may not care about your medical limitations or personal faith preventing you from being double-vaxxed - I reckon Governments and commerce should. We as people should - rather than demonising them.
