Not a massive fan of the introduced "match race" concept to replace consolation finals, whilst I understand the argument/theory why they were introduced, but in terms of the prizemoney they put up for the pair of competitors, I think it is a bit of a kick in the teeth, and somewhat disrespectful to those dogs who actually make the Final.
A dog that didn't make the Final can run against one other dog for more than third placegetter in the Final will receive, and the dog who finishes second (or last) in the match race receives more than - 5th, 6th, 7th and 8th ...Just my opinion, and whilst it makes no real sense to me in terms of the prizemoney distribution, I'm sure it makes sense to someone somewhere.
