Michael,

Good to hear. Clerical jobs are what bureaucracies are good at. FOR anything else see the posts on running the industry.

They've been great with me also.

Was transferring pups to interstate owners and every few days GRV was calling me to update me on them waiting for GWIC etc, even if there was nothing to update they were letting me know they were following up.

Quick email replies also with vaccinations and questions. Can't ask for much more.

I agree. The customer service levels and diligence with getting back to queries has been spot on, couldnt ask for better.

One thing I will warn relocating trainers from interstate though is that the moment you click on the move to Victoria button on FastTrack you cant trial a dog.
I wouldve hoped for transitional arrangements to still trial the dogs while licensing was being transferred to a new jurisdiction but not so.

In modern times where you can cross states and change your motor vehicle registration and license in minutes it would be nice to at least still be able to trial dogs if not race them for money, for a myriad of reasons like fitness and toning

Anyway my process took 2 months and 2 days- granted public holidays and new year didnt help.

I do think though there needs to provision for trainers to trial their dogs while transitioning into the GRV fold.

Jason, the lack of communication between the state systems is a nightmare.
My DQ finished on Feb 17.
Fasttrack instantly recognized that my time had been served so I began the task of re-licensing, only to find that the Ozchase system needs to remove the DQ manually.
Good to see you finally left that dry swamp of a state.

Yes and even now Ozchase shows me to be SA trainer. I wonder what wouldve happened had I nominated for races there and shown up. Well actually I know what happened I was suspended pending the transition but on Ozchase no such indication.

I went on to My Ozchase to amend my address but it doesnt allow it. I suppose manual intervention would happen at some point or a data feed between the systems after god knows how long.

I know my case isnt consired regular or normal but moving between jurisdictions should be recognised. We are all bound by GAR and the LR. I know that LR overrides national rules, which in and of itself seems to go against the constitution of Australia. But were talking about rules not legislation so I digress.

Jason,

Unfortunately in many cases the constitution does recognise state sovereignty - it was part of the deal a century ago.

However, for racing that split was voluntary although it was the states themselves which said we want to retain power. They gave GA authority only to look after clerical and drug matters and specifically banned GA examining commercial items.

Yet in other areas the states have given away their rights to the Feds and the nation has benefitted. One obvious one is air navigation which recognises that planes go back and forth across borders virtually every minute of the day.

But so do greyhounds. If the sport were truly nationalised procedures would be simplified, costs would reduce, efficiency would rise and consistency would be achieved. How about grading for a start? Stewards' decision-making? Or avoiding idiotic moves like the "confidential" memo which effectively torpedoed our chances at the McHugh Commission?

The barrier to change is empire building. Chest thumping.

Yes, there will be odd examples of legal/betting hassles related to other state laws but they can be overcome with sensible management.

It can be done. Not a digression at all. It is fundamental to running the business. But first you have to ask.

See also cricket, tennis and the football codes - all national.

Thats true Bruce but section 109 of the Australian Constitution recognises that fdral law always prevails where the are inconsistencies or ambiguity in State law.
In racing it is the exact opposite in that local rules take precedence.

I used to think the same with GRV,But lately Ive found that things are getting stuffed up constantly, and getting someone to fix up the problem is near impossible.Just get the run around.
Very frustrating.
Glad some are having good service.

Michael he won't give me a straw until she's in season and pink carded bla bla bla bla . Considering she just finished a season 3 weeks ago , and he is trying to off load his straws on deals . Where would that leave me in 6 months or so . He also has claimed that I might get a straw now a later on sell it . That's not very nice I don't think. Furthermore I have to organise a breeder to take her and whelp the litter as I'm too busy with oncology and beating multiple myeloma. That breeder would want to know I have the straw right now and am ready to go . That all brings me back to the topic of GRV and their willingness to genuinely want to help me make this process seamless as I have previously stated . I don't have time for talking the talk , but not walking the walk . I am fighting the fight of my life . I want people around me that are really helping. Like GRV .

Larry, apart from all the noise KEV makes , he is a top guy and im sure he will help you in any way he can ,

All I wanted from him was what he offered . Not the updated version . Who knows whats next . I have learned to surround myself with positivity and it's helping my fight . GRV really gave me a lift yesterday. GRV are the benchmark.

Took nearly three weeks for an owner change in QLD, but my treatment records need 5 minutes, living the dream.

Apart from stewards my experience with GRV via member services has been amazing.
I wanted to have a pink card reinstated for a bitch who was 8.5 years old and had only had the one litter as they are going really well in pretraining. Took my bitch to Sandown for the vet check only to be told that she was ready to be implanted today!
This was at 2pm. After a quick phone call to GRV and then to Ray Borda for the straw, I had approval to implant and the straw transfer from Ray within the hour.
I couldnt be more impressed with GRV and Ray at how quickly they sent through all the required paperwork to myself and Sandown.
