ABOUT Tommy Brislane

One of Australia's most precocious, tenacious and fastest chasers who achieved amazing feats before his second birthday, winning the G1 (all comers) invitational Dapto Megastar, and then the G2 (all comers) Bob Payne Classic (WP). He was unbeaten in heats of Group races—Magic Maiden, Peter Mosman, Bob Payne, and raced in four Group races, and the NSW heat and final of the 2014 National Sprint Championship.
At Wentworth Park, he raced 13 times for nine wins and two seconds. In 16 career starts, he was never beaten when leading. His tremendous early speed saw him break 5.40 to the first marker at WP many times, with a brilliant 5.32 in a heat of the Bob Payne. His best time at WP was a brilliant 29.51, equalling the PB of his famous kennel mate, Paua To Burn.
He had been invited to the world's richest single invitational race, the 2014 TopGun at The Meadows, but had to be withdrawn after suffering an injury in a pre-race trial.
He will be standing at stud while recuperating from his injury, and is in the experienced hands of stud master Kel Greenough, at the Greenough property at Pearcedale in Victoria.
His trainer Steve White, trainer of the four-time G1 winner and Hall of Famer Paua To Burn, said of Tommy Brislane: "I never thought I would get another as good as Paua To Burn but Tommy Brislane showed he had the ability to go all the way.
"To win a Group 1 race of the stature of the Dapto Megastar before his second birthday showed how good he was and how much Group glory was ahead.
"I am sure he will make a full recovery but in the meantime he ticks all the boxes you'd want in a stud dog: superb confirmation, massive chase, and brilliant early speed."
Tommy Brislane will be available for breeders from November, once all the paperwork and protocols have been completed.

Late news: on January 12, 2015, Tommy Brislane was one of three nominees for 2014 NSW Greyhound Of The Year (with Chica Destacada and Zipping Willow)

Performance

Raced 16 times before injury, for 12 wins, and two seconds—with nine wins at Wentworth Park. After his win in the Bob Payne (G2) Classic veteran reporter, Ron Arnold wrote in National Greyhound Form: "With only 16 career starts to his name, the 12 Victories so far put him on the pedestal to becoming one of the best young pups produced in this sport for quite a long time."

Progeny

Two litters due to go to the breakers in January: to Au Revoir (Brett Lee—Wave To Tammy)—born 26/9/15, four dogs, three bitches; Deutronium (Made To Size—Nice Portrait)—born 20/9/15, five dogs, one bitch.

Owners/ Stud masters recommendation

With the best of Ireland on his top line, and the magnificent Fletcher line on his damside, he has the bloodlines to mix and match with most of what's available in Australia. A cross with a daughter of Brett Lee looks ideal, with a saturation of the most prepotent blood in the world. This is a cross recommended by the doyen of bloodlines, David Brasch.
With limited opportunities during Tommy's break from racing, we will take care to ensure only the best of blood and/or racing performances can be considered. Discounts may be available for high quality broods. NOTE: On January 1, 2015, Tommy returned to the racing kennel, after 12 weeks of recuperation from an injury to his stopper bone. During his break he produced a small number of straws, so is available only for high-class race bitches on season.
