Mantra Racing was formed in Victoria by Carolyn Blacker & Chris Hislop in 2001. Moving from South Australia to Mt Glasgow in central Victoria , we constructed a brand new training facility with a 20 dog licence on 12 1/2 acres. As a professional Thoroughbred trainer in South Australia for 20+ years, Carolyn trained many winners including Cup winners, City feature winners, won Country Training premierships and won the first Southern Dollars Auction Race, the forerunner of the Magic Millions race. Some of the horses trained by Carolyn included Painted Rough, Valcanite,Top Kind, Step To Reason. Carolyn took up greyhound training and successfully trained a small team of dogs in SA. Chris began training greyhounds 26 years ago, and with a city strike rate in SA of better than 20%, has trained the winners of a number of feature city race finals, Group Race & Cup Finalists and a country cup winner. With a small team of 2-4 dogs from an SA base, Chris has trained winners in SA, NSW, Qld, Vic & Tas . Some of the dogs trained by Chris include Kali Mantra, Cyanogen, Mistress Bond, Jai Jai, Fast Car, Glistern Ridge, Chant The Mantra, Obsidian Sal, Diamond Crusher, Explosive Device, Diamond Dart, Stobac, Pickmere Haze, Riot Tonight, Bonsoir, I'm An Aussie, All Personality, Inner Rush, Mummy's Boy, Shiva Mantra, Annagh Gap, United Shamrock to name a few. Breeding quality pups with impeccable pedigrees reared on the best. Found A Home gave birth to a strapping colt by the up & coming sire SIRIUS SLEW (Imp)son of the USA's greatest racehorse Seattle Slew & whilst Bush Mill gave birth to a striking chestnut filly by the Group winning ROHATYN, this filly is a 3/4 sister to the multiple city winner CHORTOVA. A late update we have just purchased a broodmare by champion broodmare sire Twig Moss, the race winning & proven producer MERCURIAL with a leggy filly foal @ foot by the French blueblood TSIGANE a multiple GROUP winner & placegetter in the USA, France & Dubai. We will not be having her served this season. **** Found A Home had a magnificent brown colt by Bramshaw in November & Bush Mill foaled a stunning bay/brown colt in December. Exciting times ahead as we commence the journey back into thoroughbreds over the next couple of years.
